ABVP denies role in Vidyasagar varsity, alleges bid to tarnish image
The statement came amid political tensions in educational institutions following the declaration of the Assembly election results on 4 May.

Two ABVP activists were arrested on late Tuesday for attacking AISA members at Delhi University.
"President of Sri Venkateswara College's Students Union Prashant Mishra and another Vinayak Sharma from the same college were arrested on Tuesday night after they were identified on CCTV footage", a police statement said.

The duo, armed with belts, were found attacking members of the Left wing- All India Students Association (AISA) during a protest outside the Ramjas College on February 22.

The arrests came hours after thousands of students marched through Delhi University to denounce the violence blamed on the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
