A three-year-old boy has been reportedly abducted and brutally beheaded by his 16-year-old neighbour in East Delhi’s Preet Vihar area.

According to the police, the dead body of the toddler, along with the head, has been recovered from the forest area in Meerut, UP at the instance of the accused.

The way the accused has severed the head from the body of the child indicates that it is that the crime is a case of human sacrifice carried out invoking tantra-mantra. The police, who are interrogating the accused, are trying to ascertain the facts behind the incident.

A police source said that the deceased child, along with the accused boy, was missing since November 30. A team of Preet Vihar police station was on the lookout for both since the matter was reported to them by their respective parents.

After apprehending the accused minor boy, the police came to know about the sensational murder. At his instance, the police recovered the dead body of the child from the forest of Incholi situated in Meerut.

The head and the body were found lying separately in the jungle.

According to the police, the deceased used to live with his family in the slums of Chitra Vihar of Preet Vihar. Apart from his parents, the family consists of two of his sisters. His father is said to be a rickshaw puller, while the mother works as a house cleaner in the locality.

It is being said that the accused kidnapped the child Manav Kumar on November 30.

A missing report was filed by the family on the same day at the Preet Vihar police station, after which a search operation was started for both of them.

After getting apprehended by the police, the accused at first kept misleading the police. However, when he was strictly interrogated, he confessed to the killing of Manav.
