These monitoring efforts will continue, the ministry said and added that authorities will take legal measures against individuals failing to comply with the directive.
Notably, a ban on firecrackers was introduced after a rise in public complaints over their use and associated risks, which included safety concerns and disturbances in residential areas.
Afghanistan’s capital city is facing persistent security and public safety challenges, since residents, on a frequent basis, report incidents that disrupt daily life, despite repeated assurances from authorities.
To combat challenges, several measures have been put in place, which includes market inspections and restrictions on hazardous materials. However, their effectiveness has often been questioned because of the inconsistent enforcement and limited follow-through.
Apart from security concerns, residents have highlighted problems linked to overcrowded markets, weak enforcement of regulations, as well as limited public awareness about safety risks.
