Noida horror

A 15-month-old girl was allegedly assaulted at a daycare centre in Noida’s Sector 137, where her mother had left her for a few hours. According to police, CCTV footage showed an attendant pinning the toddler to the ground, slapping her repeatedly, hitting her with a plastic bat, and even biting her thighs as she cried in pain.

The child’s mother, Monica, a resident of Paras Tierea, filed a complaint at Sector 142 police station on Thursday. She named the accused as Charu, the owner of the “Blippi” daycare, and Sonali, an attendant who had joined just 10 days earlier. The FIR states that Charu allegedly witnessed the incident but did not intervene.

Monica told police that on Monday, her daughter appeared unusually distressed when she picked her up. At home, she discovered bite marks on the toddler’s thighs. A doctor confirmed these were human bite marks, prompting her to confront the daycare. She said the CCTV footage revealed the assault in detail.

When Monica demanded answers, she alleged that both Charu and Sonali misbehaved with her and issued threats. Despite the toddler’s frantic cries, Charu allegedly offered no comfort or care.

Police have booked the two under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Sonali has been taken into custody, and the toddler has undergone a medical examination to assess her injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
