The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday said it had carried out a series of airstrikes on Iranian military infrastructure, including an underground facility allegedly used to store ballistic missiles.
According to a statement released by the IDF on its Telegram channel, the strikes targeted several locations linked to Iran’s military establishment as tensions between the two sides continue to escalate.

The military said the underground site that was hit was used for storing ballistic missiles and included bunkers and command centres where hundreds of regime operatives were present at the time of the strike.
The IDF also confirmed that Imam Hossein University, the main military university of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was among the targets. The Israeli military said the institution is used for training IRGC officers.
Around 80 Israeli aircraft involved in strikes
The operation reportedly involved around 80 Israeli Air Force aircraft, marking a significant expansion of Israel’s military actions against Iranian infrastructure.
The IDF said the strikes were aimed at weakening Iran’s military capabilities and disrupting the activities of operatives linked to the Iranian regime.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, and Iran had not officially responded at the time of reporting.
IDF counters misinformation circulating online
Alongside the announcement of the strikes, the Israeli military also posted a series of graphics on social media addressing what it described as misinformation about the conflict.
In the posts shared on X, the IDF rejected claims that Israel had launched a ground invasion into Lebanon and said its strikes in Iran were directed at military and strategic targets rather than civilians.
The graphics also asserted that Hezbollah’s missile attacks against Israeli civilians had drawn Israel further into the conflict and that military action was being carried out in response to those threats.
The posts were accompanied by the message: “Misinformation spreads quickly. Here are the facts.”
The developments come amid rising tensions across the region, with analysts warning that further military exchanges between Israel and Iran could widen the conflict in West Asia.
