With US President Donald Trump’s extended deadline of “Tuesday, 8:00 PM Eastern Time” looming, Iran on Monday formally rejected the ceasefire proposal given by the United States, reported Iranian state media.

According to the Iranian state media, Tehran has demanded a permanent end to the war and presented its own 10-point plan to resolve the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Iranian demands in the 10-point proposal include ending the regional conflict, securing transit through the Strait of Hormuz, reconstruction of damaged infrastructure and lifting sanctions against Tehran.

The development follows Trump’s expletive-laden warning that the US military will attack power plants and civilian infrastructure in Iran if the country doesn’t make the deal before his 10-day deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz ends.

The deadline was set to expire on Monday, April 6 but the US President silently extended it till Tuesday, 8:00 PM (Eastern Time) and said this will be the final one.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fn’ Strait, you crazy bds, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he wrote on Truth Social.

‘Iran will have no bridges, no power plants’: Trump

After Iran’s rejection of the US ceasefire proposal, Trump said Iran will have no power plants and no bridges if it doesn’t make the deal.

“And if they don’t, they’ll have no bridges. They’ll have no power plants. They’ll have no anything.”

He further added that he would have taken the Iranian oil if he had the choice.

“If I had my choice, what would I like to do? Take the oil,” he said. “Because it’s there for the taking. There’s not a thing they can do about it.

“Unfortunately the American people would like to see us come home. If it were up to me I’d take the oil, I’d keep the oil… make plenty of money and I’d also take care of the people of Iran,” he added.
