As many as 50 pilgrims from Bangladesh have lost their lives in Saudi Arabia during this year’s Hajj.
As per the latest Hajj bulletin, 33 of the deceased were men and remaining 17 were women. Among them, 35 died in Makkah, 14 in Madinah, and one in Jeddah, Dhaka Tribune reported.

So far, a total of 54,323 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned to the country on 127 flights after completing the Hajj pilgrimage this year. Out of these, 4,313 pilgrims returned under the government management scheme.

At 22,952, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has transported the largest number of returning pilgrims, while Saudia Airlines has returned 19,285 people.
Among others include 8,380 pilgrims from Flynas Airlines and 3,706 pilgrims through other airlines.
Till date, 127 return flights have been operated. This includes 58 flights of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 48 from Saudia Airlines and 21 from Flynas.
Moreover, Bangladeshi medical centres have issued 62,837 automated medical prescriptions as part of the healthcare services for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
This year’s Hajj took place on May 26. It saw 4,565 Bangladeshi pilgrims travelling under the government scheme, while 73,935 others travelled under private management.
