Tech-giant Apple Inc managed to clear its internal financial targets in 2019, but its CEO Tim Cook’s compensation fell by one-quarter because of lower profit margins tied to weaker iPhone sales and revenue.

Cook made $125 million in 2019, 8% less from $136 million, which he received in 2018. In that 2018 fiscal year, he received a $12 million bonus, his largest ever. Cook’s bonus shrank in the latest period after the company failed to beat set targets.

APPLE’s board set less ambitious goals for 2019, lowering its sales target by 3 per cent from 2018 to $256.6 million and its profit target by 15 per cent (YoY) to $60.1 billion.

Apple shares hit $300 for the first time in late December and closed at $297.43 on Friday. Company’s share hit a new all-time high of $300 on Thursday, marking significant growth over the course of the last year.

The gain in the company’s shares is the outcome of the reports of better than expected aCE iPhone 11aCE and 11 Pro sales and reports of stronger AirPods Pro sales.
