In a post on X this evening, the Shrine Board announced, “The yatra will resume from Wednesday, subject to favourable weather conditions.”
The resumption of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra is conditional and subject to favourable weather conditions, officials said.
At least 35 people were killed after a landslide occurred on the Vaishno Devi Yatra route in Reasi district.
Replying to questions from reporters, Omar expressed grief over the deaths in the Vaishno Devi landslide, and asked why officials did not stop pilgrims from treading the track when there was a warning of the calamity.
In an unfortunate incident, five people were killed and 14 others were injured after a landslide occurred at Adhkwari on the Vaishno Devi Yatra route. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board said rescue operations were underway near Inderprastha Bhojnalaya at Adhkwari where the landslide took place.
