Vijay allegedly used around 30 loudspeakers without proper clearance, leading to excessive noise. Authorities also claimed that the roadshow caused major disruption, including blocking the path of an ambulance and creating inconvenience for the public.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formally issued a notice to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay to appear in person for questioning in New Delhi on 12 January, in connection with the Karur stampede case. The court will be seeking his explanation regarding the conduct of the rally and the arrangements made to manage the crowd.
The CBI may question TVK chief Vijay in the Karur stampede case that claimed 41 lives, following a Supreme Court order transferring the probe to the central agency.
Emboldened by the massive turnout at his two state conferences last month at Madurai and late last year at Villupuram, he is hitting the campaign trail as the 2026 assembly election is only a few months ahead.
