Speaking on the occasion, the President congratulated all officers and sailors associated with the 22nd Missile Vessel Squadron for achieving this feat. He said the presentation of the Standard is a testimony to the exceptional service rendered by officers and sailors, past and present, of this squadron to our nation.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by the Governor and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Chief of the Naval Staff as well as several other civil and military dignitaries.
The deployment was aimed to broaden the horizons of young officers and officer-trainees by exposing them to the socio-political and maritime facets of different countries in the Indian Ocean Region.
