South China's Guangdong Province raised its wind emergency response to the highest level at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, as Typhoon Ragasa is forecast to make landfall along the central or western coastal areas of the province as a strong or super strong typhoon within 24 hours.
The typhoon passed through the offshore areas from the resort city of Sanya to Ledong Li Autonomous County, and headed toward the central and northern coastal regions of Vietnam, according to the press conference on Kajiki response.
The South China Sea has emerged as a flashpoint as several countries have claims to certain portions of this maritime space. While some Southeast Asian countries make claims to the oceanic space in the South China Sea that falls within their respective Exclusive Economic Zones, China makes a claim on almost its entirety.
The Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict will also figure in the talks and China's role to help US defuse tensions.
The bad weather has wreaked havoc on popular tourist areas that had already been battered by months of travel restrictions during the coronavirus outbreak.
"(Interpol) failed to protect and assist my family and it is complicit in the internationally wrongful acts of its member country, China," Grace Meng said in a statement.
