Monson alleged that Rustom has asked him to testify against K Sudhakaran, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president confirming that the state Congress chief was present at one of the locations where she was raped by Mavunkal.
The allegation against women’s rights activist Rehna Fathima was she had asked her minor children to paint on her body, the video of which was circulated through social media. However, the accused contended that the act was meant to impart sex education to her children.
Justice Pushpa Ganediwala, in a judgment passed on January 19, held that there must be ‘skin-to-skin contact with sexual intent’ for an act to be considered sexual assault.
The case came to light in February 2017 when police zeroed down on Vadakkumchery as the main accused and arrested him.
The cab driver was arrested the same day and a case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a police officer said.
The incident took place near a village in the tribal-dominated Mokhada taluka on Friday, when the girl was returning home after visiting a bank, Sub-Inspector of Jawhar police station Rakesh Pagare said.
