Speaker Om Birla adjourned the Lok Sabha for the day, shortly before the Motion of Thanks was to be taken up after 12 noon, as members of the Congress and other Opposition parties walked into the well of the House and surrounded the officials’ table.
"Reply by the Prime Minister will be at 2 pm tomorrow," said Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar after the last speaker spoke on the motion on Wednesday.
The prime minister was replying to a two-day discussion on the motion of thanks to President Droupadi Murmu's address to Parliament in the Lok Sabha.
The opposition on Tuesday led by Rahul Gandhi attacked the government and the Prime Minister.
Both Houses will move a motion of thanks on the President's address January 31 in the second half of the day.
The Opposition including the Congress took active part in the Rajya Sabha debate and later heard Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply also, except for the Trinamul Congress members who staged a walk-out before Modi began.
