Two stations in Delhi record max temperature more than 49 degrees C

Palam Observatory recorded maximum temperature at 46.4 degrees Celsius, Lodhi Road 45.8, Ridge 47.2, Ayanagar 46.8, Jafarpur 47.5, Mungeshpur 49.2, Najafgarh 49.1, Pitampura 47.3, Sports Complex near Akshardham 48.4, SPS Mayur Vihar 45.4, while Gurugram was at 48.1 and Noida at 47.1 degrees Celsius, India Meteorological Department (IMD) data showed.

Massive heat wave engulfs Delhi-NCR, two stations above 47 deg Celsius

Stations such as Palam, Lodhi Road, Mayur Vihar remained below 45 degrees Celsius mark while for other observatories, the mercury did not go below it: Mungeshpur in west Delhi registered maximum temperature of 47.2 degrees Celsius (departure of 8), Najafgarh 47 (departure 7), Sports Complex near Akshardham temple 46.9, Gurugram 46.8, Pitampura 46.4 (7), Jafarpur 45.8 (6), Ayanagar 45.4 (5), Ridge 45.4 (6) and Noida registered maximum temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius.
