Kerala: Leader clarifies stand on MEC 7 amidst controversy

In a significant shift, CPI(M) leader and Kozhikode district secretary P Mohanan clarified on Sunday that neither he nor his party had made any statements against the Multi-Exercise Combination (MEC 7), a fitness initiative based in Kerala’s Malabar region.

In recent years, India has expanded its spending on US weapons, bringing in billions of dollars in helicopters, howitzers, cargo planes and other equipment. India also takes part in Malabar, a naval exercise in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea that also includes the United States, Japan and Australia.
