Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrashekhar on Saturday termed the BJP-led NDA's performance in the Kerala local body elections a "historical victory," claiming the results marked a decisive expansion of the party's vote share and political footprint across the state.
Maharashtra state president of the Samajwadi Party, Abu Asim Azmi, attacked the sudden and unexpected move to declare local civic body election constituencies as "reserved" just before the polls, without any prior consultations or indications on Wednesday, hinting at a not-so-hidden agenda to favour the BJP at the expense of the opposition.

"We haven't asked for voter roll correction based on anybody's religion. We will move the court asking for correcting voters' lists," Uddhav Thackeray said.
