Kotwali police under Krishnagar Police District in Nadia arrested an Assam Rifles jawan on Tuesday night for allegedly abusing and assaulting on-duty police personnel in an intoxicated state.
The accused, identified as Sarmina Bibi, hailing from Sagarpara police station area in Murshidabad, was caught red-handed while attempting to deliver the SIM cards concealed within onion peels and food items.
In a major crackdown on illegal drug manufacturing, the Kotwali police, under the Krishnagar police district seized a large quantity of acetic anhydride, a banned chemical essential for heroin production.
