As the portals of Kedarnath Dham opened on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand to maintain cleanliness, support the 'Vocal for Local' initiative by purchasing indigenous products, and adhere strictly to rules and regulations throughout the Char Dham Yatra.
The Adani Group is constructing a ropeway to facilitate devotees visiting the Kedarnath Dham with easier access to darshan, said Chairman Gautam Adani on Wednesday.
Portals of the Kedarnath shrine were opened in the morning as per the celestial calendar time and traditional religious rituals.
The doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham will officially reopen on May 2 while that of Shri Badrinath Dham will open on May 4, a spokesperson from the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) said.
The series of special puja rituals performed ahead of the opening of doors of the Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand began on Sunday as the holy shrine is set to reopen for devotees on May 10.
