The CBI has seized actor-politician Vijay’s campaign bus in the Karur stampede case, stepping up its investigation into lapses that led to 41 deaths at a public rally.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formally issued a notice to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay to appear in person for questioning in New Delhi on 12 January, in connection with the Karur stampede case. The court will be seeking his explanation regarding the conduct of the rally and the arrangements made to manage the crowd.
Comprising Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and Justice G Arul Murugan, the bench issued the directive while passing orders on a batch of writ petitions, including PILs.
