Indian shuttlers experienced a mixed outing at the Macau Open Super 300 badminton tournament on Friday, with star doubles duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty bowing out in the quarterfinals, while Lakshya Sen and Tharun Mannepalli progressed to the men’s singles semifinals with impressive wins.
With Hong Kong also registering two wins from as many matches, both teams have now confirmed their progression to the knockout stages. The two sides will battle on Sunday to determine the Group D winners.
The draw was held at the Badminton World Federation headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday.
