The initiative focuses on the rapid upgradation of major roads and key junctions in the state’s largest urban centre to improve connectivity and ease of movement for commuters.
Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Sunday said that the state government has deputed nodal chairmen and members to assist in the assessment of flood damage and ensure effective execution of relief and rehabilitation works across the state.

While Rs 35.50 crore had already been released to all districts in the first phase, an additional Rs 35.50 crore has now been sanctioned for 12 flood-affected districts that have borne the maximum brunt of devastation.

Addressing the appointees at the appointment letter distribution ceremony at the Municipal Bhawan here, Mundian said these Patwaris, having completed their mandatory 18-month training, are now being deployed in the field as regular Patwaris.
Addressing a press conference at Punjab Bhawan, Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian stated that this initiative will fulfill a long-standing demand of city residents and other stakeholders.
