The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has raised concerns over the rate-rationalisation proposal put forward by the Group of Ministers (GoM) that includes significant changes to GST rates for the apparel sector.

The GoM includes Union Ministers for Finance, Environment, Agriculture, Mining, Commerce & Industries, Petroleum and Law, and is led by Home Minister Amit Shah.
He added another view was whether there should be an all-India levy and should it be confined only to some luxury and sin products or on all products.
