During the launch event, the minister highlighted how Digi Yatra simplifies the cumbersome task of managing multiple documents—boarding passes, ID proofs and luggage tags while navigating the airport crowd.

Flyers can now get paperless entry at the three airports to make air travel hassle-free through the Digi Yatra launched by the Centre.
The Centre’s Digi Yatra scheme which is slated to be rolled out from August this year across two of India’s largest airports by domestic passenger volume – Bengaluru and Varanasi
The project basically envisages that any traveller may pass through various check points at the airport through a paperless and contactless processing, using facial features to establish the identity which would be linked to the boarding pass.
Digi Yatra is a biometrics-based digital processing system for passenger entry and related requirements at the airport and is 'purely voluntary'.
