Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis defended Sunetra Pawar swearing-in as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, dismissing all the controversies surrounding it as "pointless", here on Friday.
In his letter to the Maharashtra Governor, the lawyer has also stated that the very post of a Deputy Chief Minister is "unconstitutional" since such a post has not been mentioned anywhere in the Constitution of India, due to which the swearing-in ceremony was "illegal".
Sunetra Pawar was born in 1963 to Bajirao Patil, who was a political leader from Maharashtra's Darashiv.
