Delhi Police traced the accused through digital footprints, including Wi-Fi use and chats, after a brutal crime that has shaken the capital’s sense of safety.
On the occasion, the chief minister noted that the mobile forensic vans would prove highly effective in investigating crimes across various districts of the state.
Police sources claimed it was a ‘fidayeen attack’ and was planned by those associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed. They said the car was driven by Dr Umar Mohammad, who planned the attack along with two of his associates.
"We are trying to focus on ensuring that forensic science teams compulsorily reach all crime (scenes) where the punishment is more than six years. If we have to do this, then in more than 600 districts across the country, one forensic science laboratory, even if small, will have to be set up along with a mobile forensic van,"
