Delegates of 74 Commonwealth member nations and territories ratified India's 2030 bid at Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow.
Ahmedabad (also known as Amdavad) will now be put forward to the full Commonwealth Sport membership, with the final decision taking place at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on November 26, 2025.
As part of the decision, the Cabinet also cleared the signing of the Host Collaboration Agreement (HCA), along with guarantees from the relevant ministries, departments, and authorities.
The development comes ahead of the August 31 deadline to submit official bids.
