External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is expected to discuss the broad contours of the Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) being discussed with the United States during his three-day visit to America, which began on Monday.
“Talks are going on very well. There are many sensitive issues, many serious issues, so naturally, it takes some time,” the minister added.
India presents a compelling case to the US for a bilateral trade deal, given the outlook on growth and demography.
He acknowledged that the trade talks with the US for a Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) would be challenging since the US is very ambitious and the global landscape is very different from what it was a year ago.
