Shah said that the UCC has been the BJP's resolve since its foundation and the saffron party-led state governments are establishing uniform law for every citizen.
Assam Parliamentary Affairs Minister Atul Bora tabled “The Uniform Civil Code, Assam, Bill, 2026” in the Assembly during the ongoing session. The proposed legislation is expected to be discussed and taken up for passage on May 27.
The legislation will be introduced during the upcoming session of the Assam Legislative Assembly beginning on May 21.
