Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) chief Humayun Kabir on Friday ruled out any possibility of an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, asserting that his party would function as part of the Opposition despite the BJP’s sweeping electoral victory in the state.
AIMIM has gone solo in Bengal after ending its AJUP alliance, with Owaisi framing the move as a push for independent minority leadership ahead of a high-stakes election.
Adding to the high octane political drama in the poll-bound state, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) founder Humayun Kabir pitched their alliance as a strong political alternative for the Muslims in West Bengal.
