Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, on Saturday, confirmed his participation in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League. The World Cup-winning all-rounder will ply his trades for the Maratha Arabians in the tournament to be held at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the 37-year-old wrote, “Happy to announce that I will be playing for team @MarathaArabians in Abu Dhabi @T10League. Be there to cheer for my team and catch me in action at Abu Dhabi from 14 – 24 Nov! Looking forward to it .. @parvezkhan35 @sohailkhan @alitumbi#AalaReAala #marathaarabians”

Maratha Arabians had announced on October 24 that they signed Yuvraj Singh as Indian icon player. Yuvraj, who retired from all forms of cricket in June this year, has also expressed his excitement to take part in the new format.

“It is an exciting new format to be part of. I am looking forward to joining forces with some of the world’s biggest names in this league and representing team Maratha Arabians,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying in a press release.

It is going to be a thrilling time for the game of cricket. It’s heartwarming to see leagues like T10 putting in so much hard work and offering such exciting format for sports enthusiasts,” he further added.

After calling it a day in his international, domestic and IPL career, the Punjab-born cricketer had left open the possibility to turn out for overseas franchise-based leagues.

“Yes, definitely, I want to go and play some T20 cricket. I think at this age, I can manage to play some fun cricket. I want to enjoy my life. It’s been too stressful, just thinking about my international career, performing, and big tournaments like IPL… hopefully, I’ll just enjoy myself.

“Obviously I’ll take the BCCI’s permission to go out and play. For this year, or maybe next year, I don’t know,” he had said on the day of his retirement.

Notably, Yuvraj also participated in Canada’s Global T20 League after his retirement. He captained the Vancouver Knights team.
