'Dangal' narrates the story of the Haryana sisters Geeta and Babita Phogat, who became India's first women wrestlers to appear in international competitions and win medals.
Ace Indian wrestler and Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Geeta Phogat on Monday announced that she is expecting her first child. She took to her social media handle to share the good news.
The freestyle wrestler, who helped India win the first-ever gold medal in the wrestling discipline in Commonwealth Games, also shared a picture of herself flaunting her baby bump.
The first Indian female wrestler to qualify for the Summer Olympic Games captioned the picture, “A mother’s joy begins when new life is stirring inside, when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds that little one is never alone.”
“You never understand life until it grows inside of you,” she added.

After her announcement, fans and friends have congratulated her on social media and showered their best wishes.
Post her brief stint in reality show “Khatron Ke Khiladi”, Geeta returned to sports but failed to qualify for Commonwealth Games in 2018 after losing to Pooja Dhanda in trials for the 57 kg category.
