Beyond Kohli
For much of the Indian Premier League’s history, Royal Challengers Bengaluru symbolised a familiar contradiction.
Gujarat Giants have named Assam’s Jintimani Kalita as a replacement for Titas Sadhu for the remainder of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL), with the right-arm seamer ruled out due to an unspecified injury.

Gujarat Giants have named Assam’s Jintimani Kalita as a replacement for Titas Sadhu for the remainder of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL), with the right-arm seamer ruled out due to an unspecified injury.
Sadhu, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, did not feature for the Giants in the current edition. Across the last three WPL seasons, she has played only seven matches, while her most recent international appearance came in India’s three-match ODI series in Rajkot over a year ago.

Kalita, a left-handed batter and right-arm medium-pace all-rounder, has been signed for a fee of Rs 10 lakh. She previously represented Mumbai Indians, featuring in 13 matches across their title-winning campaigns in 2023 and 2025.

In a separate development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru received a boost with the return of all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar, who has recovered from a hamstring injury. The franchise confirmed that Vastrakar has joined the squad in Vadodara on Thursday.
RCB are currently leading the points table and have already sealed qualification for the next round after registering five wins from as many matches in the tournament so far.
