Riding on AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali’s half-centuries, Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore kept their play-off hope alive by thrashing table-toppers SunRisers Hyderabad by 14 runs on Thursday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

South African swashbuckler batsman AB de Villiers won the Man of the Match (MOM) award for his explosive 69-run (39 balls) innings. However, on Thursday night, AB impressed his skipper Virat Kohli not just by his batting but also with his fielding.

On Thursday night, AB de Villiers took a blinder and gave RCB its second breakthrough. This happened in the 8th over of the game in the second innings when Moeen Ali was bowling to Alex Hales.

Hales struck the ball and it was almost about to cross the boundary when AB took a “Spiderman catch”.

Here is the video of the catch:

RCB skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter and compared De Villiers to a Marvel superhero, and wrote, ” Saw #SpiderMan Live today! 😮 @abdevilliers17 #RCBvsSRH #IPL2018.”

With the win over table toppers SunRisers Hyderabad, Virat Kohli’s side have secured the fifth position in the Indian Premier League point table.

RCB have won six of their 13 games in the IPL so far and for securing their position in the play-offs, they need to win their last game against Ajinkya Rahane’s Rajasthan Royals.
