Virat Kohli’s statue installed at Jaipur Wax Museum on World Heritage Day
A wax statue of ace India cricketer Virat Kohli was installed at the Jaipur Wax Museum on the occasion of World Heritage Day on Thursday.
Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli on Saturday said he would not like to speak anything about the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act without having total information and total knowledge.
Speaking ahead of the first Twenty-20 International against Sri Lanka in Guwahati, an area that has seen widespread protests against the Act, Kohli said, “On the issue, I do not want to be irresponsible and speak on something that has, you know, radical opinions both sides.”
“I need to have total information, total knowledge of what it means and what is going on and then be responsible to give my opinion on it,” Kohli was quoted as saying by IANS.

He further added, “Because you can say one thing and then someone can say another thing. So, I would not like to get involved in something that I don’t have total knowledge of and it’s not going to be responsible on my part to comment on it.”
Guwahati, along with various other parts of the North-East, was under curfew and witnessed a complete internet shutdown after violent protests broke down in the region against the CAA.
On being asked what he thought about Guwahati, the Indian skipper expressed his satisfaction over the security arrangements and said, “The city is absolutely safe. We didn’t see any problems on the roads.”
The Indian Super League (ISL) match between NorthEast United FC and Cheanniyin FC was called off on December 12. Another match featuring NorthEast and Bengaluru FC was played in an empty Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on December 18.
The curfew was lifted on December 17 and broadband internet was restored as well. However, mass movements have continued to erupt in various places of Assam and in the entire North-East. Mobile internet services resumed in Assam on December 20 after an order from the Guwahati High Court.
