Liverpool’s hopes of securing a sixth UEFA Champions League crown were rocked as star winger Mohamed Salah exited the 2018 final in the 30th minute with tears streaming down his cheeks after suffering a suspected shoulder injury.

The prolific Egyptian is now a doubt for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on June 14, as well.

Salah got caught in a tangle with Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos and as the two fell to the ground, the Liverpool winger’s shoulder came under the Los Blancos’ defender’s body and immediately he signalled for the physio.

After receiving medical attention, Salah appeared to have shaken off the injury but crumpled in a heap within minutes and then it became apparent he could not carry on.

Clearly disconsolate and in a lot of pain, Liverpool’s top scorer this season and the reigning PFA Player of the Year was replaced by English midfielder Adam Lallana then.

Liverpool still remain in contention for the title as the scores are level at 0-0 in the 40th minute, but Real have been handed a major boost as their opponent’s main striker will not be playing any further part.
