Former Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad has taken a dig at former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly saying that the Bengal batsman “wants to run for elections” after Dada urged BCCI to take a tough stance on cricketing ties with Pakistan.

“I think Sourav wants to run for elections in the coming days or wants to become the chief minister as it is just a publicity stunt to gain attention of his country mates,” was quoted as saying by the Dawn on Friday.

Miandad also criticised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for planning to ban Pakistan from the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2019 which will be held in the United Kingdom later this year.

“There is absolutely no chance of the ICC listening to the BCCI as its constitution allows members the right to participate in its events,” The Pak batsman added.

As per media reports, BCCI is reportedly planning to approach the ICC to prevent Pakistan from participating in the ICC World Cup. Many former crickets including that of Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh has also called on the board to boycott the group stage match between India and Pakistan.
