SRH innings: Abhishek-Klaasen firepower sets up 194

Opting to bowl first, CSK were put under immediate pressure as SRH came out all guns blazing. Abhishek Sharma set the tone with a breathtaking 59 off 22 balls, hammering six fours and four sixes in a destructive display that ripped apart the powerplay.

Travis Head looked fluent early on before falling for 23, while captain Ishan Kishan was dismissed for a rare duck as CSK briefly fought back in the sixth over.

Despite the double strike, SRH maintained momentum through Heinrich Klaasen, who anchored the innings with a composed yet aggressive 59 off 39 balls. His partnership with Nitish Kumar Reddy provided stability after early wickets, helping SRH recover from mini-collapses.

Klaasen’s dismissal in the 18th over triggered a late wobble, but useful cameos ensured SRH reached a competitive 194/9.

CSK’s bowling effort was led by Anshul Kamboj (3/22) and Jamie Overton (3/37), both of whom kept the chaseable target within reach despite SRH’s explosive start.

CSK chase: Strong start, middle-over slowdown proves costly

Chasing 195, CSK began positively but failed to maintain momentum through the middle overs. Early intent in the powerplay was followed by a slowdown as SRH’s bowling unit tightened control.

Jamie Overton provided a key breakthrough by dismissing Abhishek Sharma earlier in the innings, while SRH’s bowlers consistently chipped away at partnerships to keep CSK under pressure.

Despite late resistance, CSK needed 18 runs off the final over but could not complete the chase, finishing at 184/8.

Eshan Malinga stood out for SRH with figures of 3/29, delivering crucial strikes in the middle phase, while Praful Hinge defended the final over successfully to seal the win.
