Delhi Capitals pulled off a stunning six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, chasing down 176 with one ball to spare in their IPL 2026 clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 18.
The win was headlined by a dramatic turnaround and a redemption story for David Miller, who held his nerve in the final over to seal the chase alongside Tristan Stubbs.

DC recover from early collapse
Chasing 176, DC were rocked early by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who struck three times in quick succession to leave them reeling at 18/3 inside three overs.
KL Rahul (57 off 34) and Stubbs then stitched together a crucial partnership to rebuild the innings. Rahul played the aggressor, reaching his fifty before falling to Krunal Pandya.
DC suffered another blow when skipper Axar Patel retired hurt on 26 due to cramps, leaving the chase delicately poised.
Miller finishes, completes redemption arc
With 15 needed off the final over, Miller delivered under pressure, smashing an unbeaten 22 off 10 balls, including two sixes, as DC completed the chase on the penultimate delivery.
The knock marked a significant turnaround for Miller, who had faced criticism earlier in the season after a last-over decision cost DC a match against Gujarat Titans. This time, he ensured there were no mistakes, guiding his side home with authority.
Salt shines, DC dominate death overs
Earlier, Philip Salt starred with a blistering 63 off 38 balls to anchor RCB’s innings after they were put in to bat.
He found support from Virat Kohli (19) and Tim David (26), but RCB lost momentum in the second half.
DC’s bowlers, led by Axar and Kuldeep Yadav (two wickets each), applied the brakes effectively. The death overs proved decisive, with T Natarajan, Lungi Ngidi, and Mukesh Kumar conceding just 29 runs in the final five overs while picking up four wickets.
RCB eventually finished on 175/8, a total that looked competitive but fell short after DC’s composed chase.
