Indian Captain Rohit Sharma and out of form Vice-Captain KL Rahul are likely to miss the home series against Sri Lanka. Rohit is reportedly still recovering from the thumb injury he sustained during the ODI series against Bangladesh, and he still needs time to recover completely.

Meanwhile, India’s Deputy Captain KL Rahul is also expected to miss the upcoming series. He is speculated to get married during the course of the series. The island nation is all set to tour India from 3rd of January to 15th January.

The Sri Lankan team will be playing 3 ODIs and 3 T20is against India. Notably, 2022 has not been a year both of the Indian stars wanted with the bat. Rohit Sharma looked inconsistent with the bat throughout the year.

In all the 40 innings that Rohit played this year, he could just score 995 runs. He could not even cross the 1000 runs mark. Hitman scored just 6 fifties throughout the 40 innings he played. This was the first time since 2012 when he failed to score an international century for an entire year.

Moreover, talking about KL Rahul, he has been consistently out of form and failed to score big runs throughout the year. In the 30 matches that Rahul played this year, he has scored 882 runs which included 9 half centuries with a poor average of 25.68.
