Indian Captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out from the second Test match against Bangladesh. He suffered a thumb injury in the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed in a press release that he is currently under the supervision of a medical team and won’t be part of the second and Final Test match against Bangladesh.

The BCCI medical team is of the opinion that Rohit is yet to recover from the injury and needs some more time before he could bat and field with full intensity. Earlier, there were speculations that the Indian captain could be part of the 2nd Test, but it was later confirmed that KL Rahul will continue to lead the Indian side in his absence.

Notably, in the release, the BCCI also stated that Navdeep Saini also will not be part of the Indian Test side as he is also at a recovery stage. He had suffered an abdominal muscle strain and hence will now report to National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further management of his injury.
