Recent reports reveal that La Liga giants Real Madrid are actually very keen on signing Raheem Sterling from two times defending champion of the Premier League Manchester City. A report carried by The Athletic claims that Raheem Sterling was even invited to Spain for negotiation talks concerning his future move to Real Madrid. In fact, General Director of Real Madrid Jose Angel Sanchez was himself present at the reported meeting.

The report further goes on to state that Raheem “likes the idea” of shifting bases to Real Madrid sometime in the future but is expected to remain at Manchester City for now, since he believes that working with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is beneficial for his development as a footballer.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid could force him to consider his choice of staying at Manchester City and offer him a hefty wage because they have not started off their season as well as they would have liked and are desperately looking for options in the squad.

In the five La Liga appearances so far, Madrid have won three matches, lost one while a match ended in a draw. As far as their Champions League campaign is concerned, they have got off to a horror start as they lost the opening game to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at home 3-0.

As far as Manchester City are concerned, they would not like their star player Raheem to part ways with them. They are thus offering him a new contract. City are favourites to win the Premier League title yet again and Raheem Sterling is expected to play a crucial role in their campaign this season.
