Maheshwari Chauhan wins Paris Olympics quota in Women’s Skeet Shooting
Maheshwari Chauhan secured a Paris quota for India in the women’s skeet event at the ISSF Final Olympic Shotgun Qualification Championship in Doha, Qatar on Sunday.
Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra is scheduled to be the torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics, with six months to go.
Paris will host the summer Olympics from July 26 to April 16. The 41-year-old gold medalist in the 2008 Beijing Olympics took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm this update, as he captioned the post, ” Excited to share that I’ll be a torch bearer for the
@paris2024 Olympic Games , a beacon of peace and perseverance across the globe. This flame represents our collective spirit and the power of dreams. It is a great privilege and honour!.
To elaborate on the torch rally, it will start in France on May 8 and take 68 days for the flame to arrive in Marseille. The torch relay will travel through about 65 regions in 68 days, five of which are overseas territories.

As of May 2024, 11,000 torchbearers will be forming a relay, including Bindra.
After greeting the flame for the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 and the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Albertville in 1992, France will host the torch once more in 2024.
