Pakistan sealed their place in the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 with a dominant 102-run victory over Namibia, posting 199/3 before bowling the Africans out for 97 in their final Group A match at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on February 18.

Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan were powered by a historic unbeaten century from Sahibzada Farhan, who smashed 100 off 58 balls to become only the second Pakistani batter to score a T20 World Cup hundred. Captain Salman Ali Agha added 38 off 23 deliveries, while Shadab Khan provided late impetus with an unbeaten 36 off 22 balls as Pakistan finished just one run shy of the 200-mark.

In response, Namibia never recovered from Pakistan’s spin onslaught. Louren Steenkamp top-scored with 23, but the rest of the batting collapsed under sustained pressure. Usman Tariq starred with career-best figures of 4/16, while Shadab Khan claimed 3/19 to bundle Namibia out for 97 in 17.3 overs.

The comprehensive win not only confirmed Pakistan’s qualification for the Super Eights but also marked their biggest victory by runs in T20 World Cup history. Pakistan surpassed the USA to claim the final qualification spot from Group A, joining India in the next round.

Pakistan had entered the contest on the back of a heavy loss to India, which had intensified scrutiny over their team combination and senior players. However, the emphatic performance against Namibia restored momentum and kept their World Cup campaign firmly on track.
