Know thy neighbour: Parsi community celebrates New Year
For the small and ever-shrinking community, the Zoroastrian spring festival holds a special place.
Besides his heroics on the field that took Indian cricket to another level, the batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is also known for his generosity towards his fellow countrymen.
On the colourful occasion of Navroz, the Parsi New Year, Tendulkar wished the ‘zindadil’ (cheerful) community with an overwhelming message.
“Good thoughts, good words, good deeds! A simple and beautiful principle followed by Parsis all over the world. #NavrozMubarak #ParsiNewYear,” he wrote on Twitter.

Sports Minister Vijay Goel also joined the celebration, who called Parsis his brothers and sisters.
