South Africa’s star speedster Morne Morkel stunned the entire cricket world by announcing his retirement from all forms of international cricket after the end of South Africa vs Australia upcoming Test series. The four-match Test series will start on Thursday.

Morkel’s decision shocked everyone because the year 2017 had been an exceptionally good calendar year for him as he took 39 Test wickets, his highest since 2010.

Morkel had announced his decision at a media conference in Durban.

“Family comes first,” Morkel said.

“After discussing it with my family we decided it was time to start another chapter.”

Morkel has played 83 Tests and 117 One-day International (ODI) matches in which he has taken 294 and 188 wickets, respectively.
