Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami admitted the allegations made by his wife Hasin Jahan regarding extra-marital affairs.

Shami accepted to womanizing during the investigation of match-fixing by Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ASCU).

According to a report published in DNA, Shami was lying to Hasin Jahan about London -based businessman Mohammad Bhai and ‘financial deals’, so that he can spend time with his “female friends” outside marriage in Dubai.

In a relief to Mohammed Shami, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has proceeded with offering a Grade ‘B’ annual retainership contract to Shami on Thursday after he was cleared of fixing allegations by ACU. Shami will also be seen in action in the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League as he has been cleared to join Delhi Daredevils for the upcoming season.

Notably, Shami’s contract was withheld following the match-fixing allegation made by his wife Hasin Jahan around a fortnight ago. Jahan had also accused the Indian pacer of domestic violence and adultery.

Earlier, while talking to ABP news, Hasin Jahan had hinted that Shami can be involved in match-fixing.

“ACSU checked all his bank accounts details and found no ‘suspicious entry’ whatsoever,” an Indian cricket Board insider was quoted as saying by the DNA.

“It was found out that Shami was only cooking up stories of ‘financial gains’ from a businessman to somehow go and spend time with his female friends outside his marriage.”

Following the match-fixing allegation, the Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) had requested Neeraj Kumar, former Police Commissioner of Delhi and Head of BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit, to investigate the allegations against Shami, pertaining to the provisions of the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code.

According to BCCI press release, Neeraj Kumar submitted his confidential report to the CoA and based on the conclusions in the report, the CoA was of the view that no further actions/ proceedings under the BCCI anti-corruption code were warranted in the matter.
