After weeks of wait, Premier League giants Manchester United have unveiled their new home jersey and while it’s certainly been a hit with the fans, Adidas’ exorbitant pricing has left many fuming.

United, among the biggest clubs in the world, have been criticised by their own fanbase for becoming more of a commercial juggernaut than anything else and the price of their new home kit has kicked up quite the storm.

Here’s their announcement video, in which Spanish midfielder Juan Mata stars:

As is custom with most top European clubs these days, there are two variants of the jersey.

The ‘authentic’ kit, which is the one the players actually wear for matches, costs £109.95. The shorts to go with it will set you back by a further £42.95 while the stockings retail for a cool £29.95.

So, if you want to look like Paul Pogba and Co. for a kickabout or just, you’ll be shelling out a steep £182.85.

There is still hope for those who can’t afford the aforementioned rates, for the ‘regular’ jersey is priced at £64.95 and its shorts cost £34.95. The watered-down version of the stockings are priced at £16.95 (all prices as per Addidas online store).

United will be seen in their new threads for the first time when they open their  2018 pre-season tour on Friday, when they face CF America (0700 IST).
