Premier League giants Manchester United signed Harry Maguire in the recently concluded summer transfer window and decided to play him along with Victor Lindelof in the starting XI. However, in the latest revelation, Lindelof describes how all of this could have been very different.

Lindelof has admitted that he was indeed offered a move to La Liga heavyweights Barcelona. However, he decided to stay with the Red Devils as he is a ‘loyal type’.

“There was a lot of writing about it,” Lindelof said to Swedish outlet Expressen.

“But for me I have a contract with Manchester United and I am the loyal type.

“For me it was never a question either, I wanted to stay in United and believe very much in what we have going on and that is also why I signed a new contract,” he added.

Notably, the Swede was rewarded with a new contract with the Red Devils by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The contract keeps him at the club till at least 2024.

Despite the faith shown by the manager in his team, the Red Devils have failed to perform as expected and find themselves in the bottom half of the points tally and dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Given how they are performing, the January transfer window is sure to bring in some new players to strengthen the weak-looking squad.
