Premier League side Manchester United are pretty keen to sign 2018 Ballon d’Or winner midfielder Luka Modric, say unconfirmed reports. Luka is currently part of the Real Madrid camp.

Manchester United are aiming a top-four finish in the league and would also be looking to clinch the Europa League title in the next season. If they are able to successfully achieve that, they will secure a berth in the following Champions League season.

As per reports, Paul Pogba is looking to part ways with Manchester United and has been a subject of transfer interest by Real Madrid. The midfielder of 2018 FIFA World Cup winner French team is reportedly priced at £180 million as per various sources and may well move to other sides which are willing to spend that amount to draft him into their camps.

On the other hand, Modric, who will turn 34 at the start of the season, is not being looked upon as a long term investment and thus could move to another side this summer.

As per a report published by CaughtOffside, Modric could take Pogba’s place in the Manchester United squad.

Although Modric managed to reach the finals of the FIFA World Cup last year with Croatia, he did not have a fruitful campaign ever since as Real Madrid were knocked out of both Champions League and Copa del Rey during the month of March.

Real Madrid had a trophy-less season as they finished third in the La Liga.
